Atsuko Kudo is the headline show and the event will also feature the beautiful couture lingerie of Belgian designer Carine Gilson as well as an aerial show by Cirque du Soliel.

Lingerie New York is a philanthropic event created by the 7 Bar Foundation – an organisation founded by Renata Mutis Black and closely supported by legendary guru to the stars, Deepak Chopra and which aims to provide a direct link between the glamour and female empowerment of cutting edge lingerie design and the micro financing of projects which assist women in the US (and other countries) to empower themselves out of poverty by setting up their own small businesses.

The previous event in the series was 2009’s Lingerie Miami and featured Agent Provocateur hosted by Eva Longoria Parker. For New York in 2010 the wish is to raise the bar further.

Atsuko Kudo is very happy to have been asked to do the show as of course femininity and latex power are definitely at the centre of the Atsuko Kudo world!

Atsuko will be presenting an entirely new collection for the New York show and this will represent (as far as we know) the first entirely latex full scale runway show anywhere in the world.

These pictures are from legendary UK style magazine i-D which is celebrating it’s 30th birthday issue in….well style of course! The issue is photographed beautifully by Nick Knight and features 3 different cover stars Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Lady GaGa. This time around Kate and Naomi were the ones wearing the AK latex in pictures which were previewed a few weeks ago on Nick Knight’s SHOWstudio site (as reported on the Atsuko Kudo blog).

Though the shoes are not actually latex they are manufactured from a very shiny rubber like plastic which matches beautifully with many of our latex designs. We are currently stocking four styles:-

Here she’s pictured at legendary New York venue Madison Square Gardens where she performed for 3 nights, her outfits duly reported and noted by UK Vogue on line.

It was a special commission from GaGa and stylist Nicola Formichetti. It’s difficult to see from the final edit but the ensemble also featured matching red or white stockings (we made two pairs – to be worn dependent on the nun’s mood!). The stockings were requested as they were to be shown but maybe they wanted to keep her looking chaste in these shots and hence never showed her legs. It also featured the remainder of the nun’s head dress which doesn’t seem to have been used either – a bit unfortunate as it was very nice – slightly built up to create extra drama! Because the shot was mainly Lady G lying down that’s probably why they didn’t use the head dress.

We’re very happy with how the red nun looks though as she’s lying there, we feel that she looks chaste and yet sexy at the same time which is surely intentional and that’s down to Lady Gaga as much as the outfit! Maybe her time being taught by nuns provided good experience for this role!

The lighting and filming by the legendary Steven Klein has really made the red latex appear a very beautiful blood red hue – very much the way we want to see red rubber!

All in all it was once again an absolute pleasure to create work for Lady GaGa and Nicola and her assistant Anna Trevalayan and we hope the video is as huge a success as all of the previous ones. (Pretty sure it will be!)

When we first discovered from Skin Two editor Tony Mitchell (now of Fetishistas fame) that the shoot was to take place with Emily, Marcella and Bob we immediately wanted to produce ‘classic’ fetish pieces for such a partnership. We therefore produced the Victorian corset with signature AK luxe DDF trims, with matching stockings and gloves, not realising that Bob would shoot Emily in a similarly ‘classic’ riding position on the fabulous Tally Ho! seat by Mark Brazier-Jones.

We only ever managed one shoot with Bob Carlos Clarke but boy it was a hell of a ride.
