After first
studying fashion in japan at Vantan Design Institute and later graduating
from London College of Fashion, Atsuko Kudo has spent the last five years
developing her own label in London working exclusively in latex. Debuting
at London Fashion Week in über cool boutique & gallery, The Pineal
Eye in 2002, her designs have constantly crossed the boundaries between
underground fetish and mainstream fashion, appearing in numerous publications
including Italian Vogue, Dazed London, The Times and Skin Two magazine.
To add to that success, Atsuko's designs have been worn by Lily Cole,
Dita von Teese, Helena Bonham Carter, and even Gwen Stefani. She's been
photographed by such photographers as Ben Westwood, Peter Ashworth, Christophe
Mourthé and Bob Carlos Clarke, and her designs were recognized as the
winner's choice on the first | series of the BBC's The Apprentice'.
Though based in London, Atsuko Kudo designs for clients worldwide and many
beautifully clad latex femmes have received the benefit of her talents as
the wonders of technology have created virtual fittings. All you need is
the desire, your own tape measure and the honesty to relay its findings
correctly! Her mission statement is very simple - latex, when cut and designed
well, can be worn in any context by anyone who wishes to look and feel beautiful,
feminine and strong.
For anyone who can travel or is already in the
UK, Atsuko also has her own store at Showgirls Latex Boutique on
London's Holloway Road. Atsuko's stockings and leg wear appeared
on the Paris runways this year for Hussein Chalayan and French Vogue
featured her millinery the same month. |
